Pakistan closes Afghan supply route – Aljazeera

Pakistan has suspended supplies to US and Nato forces in neighbouring Afghanistan as security forces launch a major offensive against suspected pro-Taliban fighters.

Worth seeing was a scene at Michni area the other day when an elderly woman who was holding a young boy of about 22 was coming on foot from Bajaur Agency. The woman was being offered water and Rotti by some volunteers but her concentration was focused on the youth.

nowpublic reports. When enquired, the elderly woman replied that the youth was her grandson and lunatic but the woman has no destination in mind. “I don’t know anything about my destination. I am not concerned about anything except my grandson who has no one else in the world other than me. Allah would definitely destroy those who have uprooted us from our houses,” the elderly woman told the volunteers while shedding tears.

And say: “Truth has (now) arrived, and Falsehood perished: for Falsehood is (by its nature) bound to perish.” (al-Isra 81)

Even with these clear evidences, some Pakistanis bizarrely still believe that Usama is a CIA agent and that CIA has these mujahideen on their payroll. Also out of their humiliation of not following the truth and being unable of practising the religion of Allah, these Pakistanis ignorantly believe that it is the PAk Army supporting the Afghan Taliban and then at the same time they (the Pak Army)  are fighting against the Pakistani Taliban as well. Such Pakistanis also hate America for oppressing Muslims around the globe. Such concepts being held by the Pakistani majority. Who live in a Pakistani bubble without any desire to broaden their thinking horizon.

Fact over Fictional argument is that Pakistan was supporting the Taliban and many of the Mujahideen movements druing Russian Afghan war out of nationalism. The tables turned when America changed its strategy and Pakistan was threatened for its support to the Americans.

“So you see those in whose hearts is disease [i.e. hypocrisy] hastening into [association with] them saying, “We are afraid a misfortune may strike us.” But perhaps Allah will bring conquest or a decision from Him, and they will become, over what they have been concealing within themselves, regretful. (al-Ma’idah 52)

Where there may be some elements in Pakistan Army supporting the Mujahideen, it is also a recognized fact that Musharraf and his followers being the staunch supporter of The US has tried his best to root out such elements and along with that has tortured, sold and incarcerated over 1500 Muslims. With over 1300 Pak Army soldiers killed fighting agianst the Taliban/Al-Qa’eda who never had a fight against Pakistan Army in the first place. Now over 75% of the NATO supplies take the route through Pakistan.

O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He among you who taketh them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk (al-Ma’idah 51)

Following is take from nowpublic

PESHAWAR: Fearing carpet bombing by the army jets and gunship helicopters, exodus from the restive Bajaur Agency is gaining momentum and about 400,000 people have reportedly landed in safe places in the Bajaur’s adjoining Mohmand Agency and settled parts of NWFP in state of complete helplessness.

The migrants include women and children in highest ratio as compared to men. The government though has widely disseminated the warning pamphlets in the entire Bajaur Agency which has resulted in surge of migration but on the other hand the administration is invisible as far as providing shelter to homeless people is concerned.

While standing at an exit point and watching the influx from the bleeding Bajaur Agency, one really gets hurt to see the frightened faces of the refugees who may never have thought to leave their hometown in such a miserable way. To see these gullible people one is caught by the feelings as if an enemy country has given deadline to leave the area of get ready to die.

The influx is high at Dir Lower district due to its proximity with Bajaur while people in thousands are fleeing their area and are settling into Mohmand Agency, Shabqadar, Charsada, Mardan, Nowshera and Peshawar districts.

Worth seeing was a scene at Michni area the other day when an elderly woman who was holding a young boy of about 22 was coming on foot from Bajaur Agency. The woman was being offered water and Rotti by some volunteers but her concentration was focused on the youth.

It is said that when misfortune comes, it catches one from all directions and this is exactly what is being done with the displaced people of troubled Bajaur Agency, bordering Afghanistan. On one hand they are compelled to leave their houses in despair while on the other hand they are being fleeced by the transporters, who are charging them double and triple than the usual fare.

“We are being forced to review our ties with Pakistan,” said Gul Rehman, a local of Mamoond Tehsil. He said no country so far might have bombed its own citizens but an Islamic army was busy showering bombs on its own brothers just to appease America.

Wali said the way warning pamphlets were being thrown through helicopters was usually done when an enemy force decides to go for ethnic cleansing of a tribe or a nation. “I just curse this army and the rulers,” he said and added in this way they would never be able to exterminate the Taliban.

Welfare bodies like Al-Khidmat Foundation and Jamaat-ut-Dawa have set up camps all along the route from Bajaur to Dir and Malakand on one side and Bajaur to Peshawar via Mohmand Agency on the other side. Al-Khidmat Foundation of Jamaat-e-Islami are taking lead by having established two major camps, one each in Munda in Dir and Mayar in Mardan.

The JI former MNA Shabir Ahmad Khan in a news conference here Saturday revealed that Al-Khidmat Foundation had deputed 1,500 volunteers, 1,200 male and 300 female, to help the displaced people by providing them shelter, food, drinking water and medicines.

He claimed to have spent Rs 9 million during 10 days on the rehabilitation of the dislodged people of which Rs 5.5 million had been spent on arranging food for refugees, Rs1.5 million on transportation and Rs3 on providing healthcare to the affectees of Bajaur. We have provided shelter to 50,000 people in our camps in Munda, he said and added that Al-Khidmat Foundation had approached to government to allow them set up shelter houses in government schools and colleges.

He said that the JI leadership was launching “Jhooli Phelao Mohem” to collect funds for the rehabilitation of the refugees. In the wake of exodus from Bajaur and influx into provincial capital, an unprecedented increase in the rent of houses is being observed while burden on local hospitals has also increased as a result of the arrival of refugees in large number.

Most of the refugees are of the view that government should stop the ongoing operation so that they could go back their houses. Some of them are of the view that both government and Taliban were wrong as both of them are playing in the hands of enemies. However, a vast majority were found having sympathies with the Taliban as they say that Taliban were no other but their own brothers.

Pak Army accomplishments previously done at Bajaur.

May Allaah destroy these apostates and their masters, Aameen

Prisoner 650 and Escape from Bagram 1/3

Posted in Uncategorized on December 27, 2008 by chameleon47

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatulahi wa barakatuhu.

Where Yvone Ridely, Imam Anwar Al-Awlaki, Mozzam Beg and a few others did indeed help a great deal in bringing out Sister’s Afia’s case to the public. Many of us ignore the fact that it was our four mujahid brothers (Abu Nasir al Qahtani, Abu Abdallah al Shami, Omar al Farouq, Abu Yahya al Libi) who escaped from bagram notorious prison in 2005 and spoke the Haq in a film done by Labaik Media. It was them who brougt this subject about Prisoner 650.
bagram-4-field

In an article Yvone Ridely Says, “The account had been corroborated by four Arabs who had escaped from Bagram in July 2005. While on the run, one not only confirmed he had heard a woman’s screams, but said he had seen her.”

The point of this reminder is simply to spoon feed my paki brothers who are still diluded of the fact that it is the mujahideen are terrorists fighting for some hidden agenda.

Allah says:

And why should ye not fight in the cause of Allah and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed)?- Men, women, and children, whose cry is: “Our Lord! Rescue us from this town, whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from thee one who will protect; and raise for us from thee one who will help!” (al Nisa 75)

On the other hand we will never forget the Taghut regim of our rulers who have embraced the slogan “Pakistan Sab say Pahlay”. Under which they have sold and tortured many of our brothers/sisters.

And Allah says about the hypocrites who show their loyalty to the disbelievers:

“So you see those in whose hearts is disease [i.e. hypocrisy] hastening into [association with] them saying, “We are afraid a misfortune may strike us.” But perhaps Allah will bring conquest or a decision from Him, and they will become, over what they have been concealing within themselves, regretful. (al-Ma’idah 52)

In the following clips Shaykh Abu Yahya al-Libi said in the documentary,

img-7859-1And the story that I wanted to narrate; there is a woman from Pakistan. She stayed two complete years in solitary confinement in Bagram prison among more than 500 men. She goes out to the bathroom, led by the disbelieving, American infidel, placing his hand on one of her shoulders and the other hand on her back, and her hands and feet chained together, and she is treated exactly in the same way as a man, even in her clothing, the red suit that the brothers wear in Guantanamo and the Mujahideen in Bagram.

Prisoner 650; a story of American tyranny upon our Muslim sister

Posted in Prisoners on December 26, 2008 by chameleon47

from Ignored Puzzled Pieces of Knowledge

The story of Prisoner 650 is a sad story. It is a story of unjust American imprisonment and their disgusting violations of human rights. The American Government is really now known for its human rights abuses more than anything and all they will say is, “We will look into it” and if someone is caught, “It was an act done by a few and doesn’t reflect the American Government…” When will these fanatics realize that their credibility has been totally destroyed in the eyes of the Muslims and the world at large? When will these terrorists and human right abusers admit that their Army and Government is full of sick wacko’s who have great hatred for the Muslims and their Religion? And when will the American people come to the realization that protesting [and we respect them for their efforts in protesting] in front of the White House or in the Capital will not change the oppressive policies of the Bush Administration?

We’ll post some short articles here regarding our sister. To learn more about America’s unjust imprisonment of Muslims, click here. The first one is from Yvonne Ridley’s experience:

Four years in Bagram as Prisoner 650

British journalist Yvonne Ridley flew to Pakistan on a whirlwind trip this week to highlight the plight of a woman who has been held in US custody for more than four years.

She referred to the woman, known only by her prisoner number 650, as The Grey Lady of Bagram.

More than 100 journalists attended the press conference hosted by Pakistan political leader Imran Khan who pledged his full support to Ridley’s mission, which is part of a Cage Prisoner Campaign to help the female detainee.

A statement of support from British MP and RESPECT Party leader George Galloway was also read out during the conference.

Details of Prisoner 650 are being kept secret by the U.S. military.

On Monday night she said, “I think everyone was shocked to hear that the Americans were holding this woman at Bagram in Afghanistan. From the information coming through I am told she is being held in exactly the same conditions as the men and has absolutely no privacy when it comes to toilet and shower facilities.

“This would never happen to a Western woman and it shows just how women are viewed by the US military. There is even a suggestion she has been molested and sexually abused by her captors. We need to demand the truth,” added Ridley who was held captive herself in Afghanistan for 11 days in September 2001.

“I was released on humanitarian grounds. Mercifully my treatment was good, respectful and decent, although still terrifying,” she added.

Ridley, also a patron of the organization Cage Prisoner, revealed how she first read about the woman in a book written by ex-Guantanamo detainee Moazzam Begg called Enemy Combatant.

“I remembered Moazzam telling me about the woman’s screams and how he first imagined they could be from his wife. In truth, I thought maybe he had just been listening to a tape recorder as part of a form of mental torture.

“However, we now know the screams came from a woman who has been held in Bagram for some years. And without compromising anyone, we can also reveal from impeccable sources that her prison number is 650.

“This information has been enough to scramble the Pakistan media into action by demanding the return of this woman to her homeland immediately,” added Ridley.

Joining her at the open air press conference in Islamabad at the headquarters of Khan’s PTI party was Saghir Hussain, a lawyer and member of Cage.

He handed over a dossier prepared by Cage which reveals the full extent of the Disappeared from Pakistan… individuals who have been literally kidnapped from the streets.

“Prisoner 650 is just the tip of a very nasty iceberg of human rights abuses, illegal detentions and rendition flights. It is a shameful episode in Pakistan’s history which must be put right.”

Amina Masood Janjua, chair of the Defense of Human Rights, also joined the platform along with other supporters whose husbands, sons and brothers have disappeared without trace. She thanked Cage for its dossier and the supporting work it had conducted on the Disappeared.

“I wonder how can we hand over our sister to the non-Muslims for their illegal trial by men whose history is full of rape and other abuses to prisoners,” the Pakistani daily Dawn quoted Ridley as saying.

Ms. Ridley read the text from the book’s section covering Mr. Begg’s stay in Bagram, “I began to hear the chilling screams of a woman next door… Why have you got a woman next door? They told me there was no woman. But I was unconvinced. Those screams echoed through my worst nightmares for a long time. And I later learned in Guantanamo, from other prisoners, that they had heard the screams too.”

She said the account had been corroborated by four Arabs who had escaped from Bagram in July 2005. “While on the run, one not only confirmed he had heard a woman’s screams, but said he had seen her.”

Ms. Ridley said, “My story made international headlines, front page pictures and major stories on TV. But there has not been one word, not one paragraph about Prisoner 650 — the ‘grey lady’ of Bagram, a murderous detention facility under control of the U.S. military and intelligence services.”

She urged every Pakistani to ring America, and ask them who Prisoner 650 is. What was her crime? Who else was being held illegally? How many secret detention centers were there?

Ms. Ridley’s colleague Saghir Hussain gave details about other people of the country who had ‘disappeared’.

“All, like the grey lady of Bagram, have been illegally abducted by secretive intelligence agencies. They began disappearing in 2001 during the so-called war on terror,” he said.

Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan demanded that the government hold an investigation into the case. “What has the sovereign parliament done about the missing persons?” he asked.

The second one is from Imaam Anwar al-’Awlaki, may Allah protect him. He speaks of the issue from a Shari’ (Islaamic Law) perspective:

Prisoner 650

A Pakistani Muslim woman had been held in the notorious Bagram Prison in Afghanistan for years and now her current whereabouts unknown. Have you heard about her? Most likely not. A Muslim woman is lingering in such a torturous jail and no alarms have gone off in her country or in any part of the Muslim world. How low have we, as an Ummah, stooped to not only allow such a thing to happen, but to be so oblivious about it?

Not much is known about her. Why is she there? What crime has she committed? She is a ghost prisoner. If not for eyewitnesses, such as the former Guantanamo Bay prisoner Moazzam Begg and interest raised about her case by journalist Yvonne Ridley, we wouldn’t have heard anything about her.

When some Jews dared to uncover a Muslim woman, it didn’t take long for the banners of the Muslim armies led by the Messenger himself to hover around their fortresses. They where defeated by the Muslim forces, and the entire Jewish Community, (not just the perpetrators) where driven out from Madina — all of them, down to the last man. This is how serious such a matter is.

Centuries later, a Muslim woman was taken prisoner by the Roman Army and called for help from the Abassid Khalifah of the time, al Mu’tasim. He immediately ordered a mobilization of forces and led those forces himself in an attack of Roman territory in response to the call of a single Muslim woman. The response to her plea from the Muslims of that time was the complete severance of diplomatic relations, and Declaration of War against the superpower of the time.

But today, no one knows or even seems to care about this woman who has disappeared into US custody for years.

The Messenger of Allah, as narrated in Sahih al Bukhari, said: “Release the prisoner.” It is a clear and direct order to Muslims until the end of time. The Scholars of Islam state that if a Muslim in the East is taken prisoner, it becomes mandatory on the Muslims of the West to seek his release, even if that would lead to them expending all of their wealth.

In addition to this sister being a prisoner, she is also a woman. Islam gives special protection for women and children, and the honor of the Muslim Ummah is in their protection of their women. The first ayah that allowed fighting in the path of Allah justified it for the defense of women, children, and the weak.

Allah says: And why should ye not fight in the cause of Allah and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed)?- Men, women, and children, whose cry is: “Our Lord! Rescue us from this town, whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from thee one who will protect; and raise for us from thee one who will help!” (al Nisa 75)

I pray to Allah to release our sister and all our brothers and sisters from the prisons of the tyrants.

http://www.anwar-alawlaki.com/2008/07/23/prisoner-650/

As our Sister Yvonne Ridley had mentioned, the Mujaahideen of Afghanistan have talked about this Prisoner. In 2005, Labbayk Media released a documentary entitled, “Escape from Baghram Prison.” It was regarding the 4 Mujaahideen who escaped the notorious American prison in Baghram miraculously with the help of Allah. Shaykh Abu Yahya al-Libi said in the documentary,

And the story that I wanted to narrate; there is a woman from Pakistan. This woman stayed there until she lost her mind, until she became insane, hitting the door and screaming day and night, and those ones all they do is make it worse by calling her by her number 650, that’s the number she had in the Bagram prison… “What’s the problem?” And she didn’t find a person to talk to. She is in solitary confinement, in front of her is a solitary room belonging to a man, on her side is a solitary room belonging to a man, and next to her is a solitary room belonging to a man. She didn’t find a woman to talk to, she only sees men, she only sees the adulteresses from the American army. So the woman lost her reasoning and mind and she stayed in this condition for two complete years, probably no one knew anything about her. Wa Laa Hawla Wa Laa Quwata Ilaa Billaah.

And the Mujaahid who is now imprisoned by the Saudi authorities, Abu Naasir al-Qahtaanee, may Allah free him from the hands of the tyrants, said in the documentary,

To the rulers. To the rulers, may Allah uglify them! To the Arab rulers and to those rulers who say they are Muslim!

By Allah this woman stayed in this prison for two complete years. So me and some of my brothers, me, Abu Yahya and the brothers here now and some of the Afghans, we tried to rescue our sister from this humiliation and imprisonment, so we went on a hunger strike for around nine days, we refused to eat and drink for a duration of nine days, until the American interrogator came and asked, “Why aren’t you eating?” We said, “We will not eat until death, until this woman leaves this prison!” And with the blessing of Allah All Mighty, Allah got her out and then Allah rewarded us and then got us out, and all praise is due to Allah.

When he says that Allah got her out, perhaps he meant that was only from the local jail cells; meaning, that she was moved to an unknown location.

We ask Allah to enable the Mujaahideen to free our sister.

The Importance of the position & role held by the Mujaahideen in the Current International stage.

The Ignored Puzzle Pieces of Knowledge

The Importance of the position & role held by the Mujaahideen in the Current International stage.

The important position and role held by the Mujaahideen in today’s International arena has been greatly undermined by the Muslim world. There are some, unfortunately, who will repeat claims that, “Jihaad [today] is a very, very small part of Islaam.” The problem with such a mentality is that it ignores the mammoth conflict that is occurring between truth and falsehood, belief and disbelief. It is a type of conflict which is deciding how the world will be shaped within the coming decades for our future generations.

The Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wassallam, has said, “The head of the matter is Islaam, its pillar is Salaat, and its peak is jihaad.” [1] Indeed, there are many aspects to this noble Religion which hold great importance such as the Salaat, Hajj, Ramadan, Seeking Knowledge, Da’wah and so on. But the one thing which is unmatched in reward and in some circumstances, the greatest priority after Imaan [2], is the implementation of Jihaad against the enemies of Allah that are fighting us. When the enemies of the Religion gather around the Muslim lands like a plate of food, it is incumbent upon the Muslims to resist that pressure and slavery. [3]

What the Muslims in the West have failed to acknowledge is the “world stage” itself. The “world stage” is not limited to the borders of ‘Iraaq, Afghanistan, Somalia and Chechnya; rather, they extend all around the world and are essentially border-less. The battle takes us to the limitless boundaries of the “war of ideas” which can be campaigned anywhere from the Pentagon to a small mud house in Uzbekistan that has Internet access. This war is being fought with bombs, guns, rockets, websites, hackers, spies, forums, blogs and minbar’s. It is a massive battlefield which only accepts the victorious to wipe out every aspect of the opponent’s capabilities. In turn, future generations will be living off of the fruits of this war and present mankind – after the dust has settled – with the victorious system of life to live by. Today, it is Western Democracy based on a pseudo-Crusade for the sake of oil and Israel [4] put against the Islaamic Caliphate based on the Islaamic Religion for the sake of Allah [5]. Both sides wish to see its influence and power in the regions of the far earth, and both sides wish to see the people acknowledging their system.

In this globalized world of ours, it is nearly impossible to not be a part of the societal fabric that is affected by this “war on terror.” It is affecting nearly each and every single community either directly or indirectly. For a person to not have an opinion on this war is an insult to intelligence. Surely, the Muslim Communities in the West have an opinion on the war – some valid and some invalid – but overall, it is limited to the apparent injustices and atrocities of the Western Superpowers. A classic case one will find within the tea-drinking Pakistani dinner tables is the saying, “This war is unjust” and “Israel is…” and they give off the feeling of being betrayed and the hope is very shallow in most of these atmospheres. In addition to it, there is always wide ignorance portrayed by them regarding the status of the Mujaahideen around the world; for some reason, our Uncles think that we are still in the 80’s where the Muslim world was just beginning to find out its abilities in warfare. Sometimes, one would find themselves in the situation of explaining to them what an IED is – which clearly portrays their immense ignorance on the current global Jihaad – and then only to be shot down by them with their words, “The CIA has funded many of these groups… money was given to Usaamah bin Laadin by the Saudi Regime via the CIA…” Besides the weak verification process [6] and baseless rumors that they were fed from Newsweek and the Times, it is an abhorrent weakness to see such words coming out of a Muslim when the current day reality no longer reflects what was of the past.

The face of al-Qaa’idah has changed dramatically so, for instance. From being a movement of having a reputation of being slightly anti-US Government – more anti than the Afghans in the Soviet war – to a movement that is leading the slaughter of the soldiers of the US Government in different parts of the world. Now, various independent Jihaadi movements around the world have joined hands with them in that struggle from Libya, Algeria, Egypt, ‘Iraaq and other lands. Thus, it can be no longer argued that there is something fishy about the Usaamah and CIA connection when in reality, the only thing between the two is the sword.

In addition to the change from the past and how its reflection today is no longer the same mirror, the opinions of the Muslims have changed with time. The urge for Jihaad for the sake of Jihaad has ended with the conflict in Bosnia [7] and now the fruits of that experience and awareness of current day problems have modified and created modern-day Jihaad movements all across the world. The Jihaad from Algiers to the Philippines is now focused strictly on Jihaad for the Caliphate. We are seeing constant reports of the Shari’ah established in Mujahid-controlled areas and the number of Shari’ah courts increasing alongside. Giving such glad tidings to these ignorant Muslims usually ends up with them not believing in it full-heartedly or not having much hope in it; and this is due to the lack of Imaan.

With all of this in mind, how can the Western Muslims live in a bubble acting as if the “war on terror” is not a decisive battle? How is it that they downplay this battle and make their struggles in the local community seem greater? They become extremely upset upon seeing the Abu Ghraib photos yet they are not willing to confront this injustice due to their fear of losing their jobs; and many of them are the same ones who preach on the Friday pulpit that it is Allah who is Ar-Razzaaq (The Provider) and not your Company or Government. And even amongst these people are groups who say that their goal (of the organization) will eventually be met with Government disapproval, therefore the Muslims are told to have Sabr and to prepare themselves for extreme difficulty such as losing ones job, chaos in the family, etc. Yet, for the sake of the greater Islaamic good – which part of it is to speak the uncensored truth in front of the tyrant – is heavily shunned by these people; they put their organization’s agenda before the agenda of the Qur’aan and Sunnah.

Why is there an attitude of “seek knowledge of the religion and worldly affairs and seek understanding between the people of other faiths” yet when it comes to the affairs of those Mujaahideen that are turning the tables on the “war on terror,” destroying America militarily, economically and socially (through the use of media and sympathy with the oppressed) there is an attitude of “we are satisfied in our ignorance… those terrorists are hurting the image of Islaam.” Do these people not see that it is the Mujaahideen who will be from at-Taa’ifah al-Mansoorah [8] and not the Western Muslims who are satisfied in their openly ignorant criticisms of supporting the current Jihaad and the soldiers of Islaam?

The bubble that these Muslims live in is one of Wahn. It is the culture of hating death and loving wealth. By default, it is embedded into the minds of the Western people. People who hate death will never take risks to live a life that is constantly encircled and harassed by death. They don’t want to fling themselves into the spears of the enemies when they could be playing their PlayStation 3 or enjoying their favorite television show or sport whilst eating their favorite dinner meal. They don’t see a need nor have an urge to meet Allah. To meet Allah as soon as one can should be the dream of every believer; if this is not the intention of the Muslim, then it is Satan who is standing on the doorway of their hearts. The hadeeth of not wishing to meet one’s enemy is not even applicable here as some have tried to indulge in. [9]

Do we profess to love martyrdom the way our noble Sahaabah loved martyrdom? Or do we shun it in our meetings, give an alternative to it in our Khutbaat, and look down upon it in our annual conferences? Ishaaq bin Sa’ad bin Abi Waqqaas, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that his father told him that ‘Abdullah bin Jahsh told him before the battle of Uhud: “Let’s go and make du’aa (supplications).” So they went aside and Sa’ad went first. He said: “O Allah if we meet our enemy tomorrow then let me face a tough fighter so I can fight him for your sake and he can fight me. Then let me defeat him and kill him.” ‘Abdullah then made his prayers: “O Allah let me face a tough fighter so I can fight him for your sake and he can fight me. Then let him kill me and after that cut my nose and ears. So when I meet You, You will ask me: “O Abdullah! Why were your nose and ears cut off?” I would reply: “They where cut off for Your sake and for Your Messenger” And then you would say: “Yes, you spoke the truth”. Ishaaq bin Sa’ad said: My father said: “O my son, the prayer of ‘Abdullah was better than mine. I found him the end of the day with his nose and ears tied in a string.” [10]

————–

[1] There are quite a few narrations of this hadeeth with varied levels of authenticity. The most authentic being the one narrated from at-Tirmidhi from Mu’aath ibn Jabal, may Allah be pleased with him, where the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wassallam, said, “Should I not inform you of the head of all of the matter, its pillar and tip and its camel hump?” I said, “Of Course, O Mesenger of Allah.” He said, “The head of the matter is Islaam, and its pillar is the Salaat, and the tip of its camel hump is Jihaad.” This narration was declared “Hassan Saheeh” by at-Tirmidhi in his “Jaami” #2616. It was declared “Saheeh” by Al-Albaanee in “Saheeh at-Tirmidhi” #2616. See “I’laam al-Muwaaqi’een” 4/259 by Ibn al-Qayyim, and “Saheeh ibn Maajah” #3224 by Al-Albaanee for more information.

[2] In reference to the saying from Shaykh al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, “The first obligation after Imaan is the repulsion of the enemy aggressor who assaults the religion and the worldly affairs.” [Al-Fataawa al-Kubra 4/608]

[3] See the books: “Defense of the Muslim Lands: the first obligation after Imaan” by Shaykh ‘Abd Allah Yusuf ‘Azzam & “Fundamental Concepts Regarding al-Jihaad” by Shaykh ‘Abd al-Qaadir ibn ‘Abd al-’Azeez & “Mashari Al-Ashwaq Ila Masari Al-Ushaaq Wa Mutheer Al-Gharaam Ila Daar Assalaam” by Shaykh ibn an-Nuhaas; these three titles are considered to be amongst the most authentic and important Jihaad subject-related books by the ‘Ulema and Mujaahideen.

[4] See, “Forcing God’s Hand” by Grace Halsell and “Jerusalem in the Qur’aan” by Shaykh Imran Nazar Hosein.

[5] There are quite a few books, articles, statements and fataawa on the purpose of the Mujaahideen today; most of them being in Arabic. So an English book that would suffice is, “Are the Taliban from Ahl as-Sunnah?” by At-Tibyan Publications & an English-based documentary from the Mujaahideen that would suffice is, “State of the Ummah” by As-Sahab Media.

[6] It is a weak form of verifying the reality because it is a one-sided view empty of any verification from the other side (in this case, Usaamah bin Laadin). See the Qur’aan, 49:6

[7] That is not to say that the Muslim fighters did not want to establish a Caliphate or didn’t have it on their minds. Nay, it was even Bill Clinton who said in his autobiography that the US troops were sent to Bosnia because of the fear of having an Islaamic Caliphate in the Balkans. The struggle for it slowly diminished and the focus was on killing the enemies; this eventually spread to Chechnya and it was only recently when this mentality died there and the establishment of the “Islaamic Emirate of the Caucauses” revived the intention and goal for the Caliphate.

[8] The victorious group as prophesized by Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu ‘alayhi wassallam. See “Characteristics of the Victorious Party in the Foundation of the State of the Believers” by Shaykh Abu Qataadah al-Filistinee.

[9] And we will discuss its reasons in the upcoming article, “‘Do not wish to meet the enemy’ cannot be generalized“.
